JUNE ROSE
June Rose, 79, of Gower, MO, passed away, Wednesday, September 20, 2006.
She was born on June 1, 1927 to Lonnie Edward and Mildred Laura (Pike) Williams near Easton, MO. June graduated from Gower High School in 1945.
On November 15, 1945 she was united in marriage to Bill R. Rose. After their marriage they farmed in Rose Valley where they made their home. Her husband, Bill, passed away April 14, 1983.
June worked at the Platte Purchase Antique Barn and the Gower Convalescent Center.
She was a member of the Bethany Christian Church, Mt. Zion Ladies Aid, and the Gower Goodtimers. June was also a member of the Rose Valley Wranglers Riding Club, Gower Legion Auxiliary, Gower Alumni Association Class of 1945, Lathrop Antique Car, Tractor, and Engine Association, the Order of the Eastern Star in Stewartsville, and the Gower Lions Club.
June was also preceded in death by her parents, her aunt and uncle who raised her, Lester and Georgia Mae Williams; two brothers, Eldon and Ivan Williams; and one sister, Olive Viola Williams.
She is survived by her longtime companion, R.E. “Mac” McMartin, of the home; children, Sue and Dave Miller, Pueblo, CO, Larry and Elaine Rose, Mound City, MO, Linda McNeiley, St. Joseph, and Marshall McNeiley, Savannah, MO; seven grandchildren, Megan, Brent, Tim, Jeremy, Kerri, Amanda and Justin; three great-grandchildren, Mitchell, Delaney, and Peyton; four brothers, Herbert Williams, Petaluma, CA, Norman Williams, St. Joseph, MO, Lester Williams, Goodwin, MO, and Wayne Williams, Harlingen, TX; and one sister, Grace Stillwell, Kansas City, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 24th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Bethany Christian Church or the Mt. Zion Cemetery.
