June Elizabeth Asher

June Elizabeth Asher, 91, of Smithville, MO passed away September 5, 2007 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on October 27, 1915 to Alfred Benjamin and Emma (Gensler) Campbell in Kansas City, MO where she grew up and attended school.

On October 28, 1933 she was united in marriage to Woodrow Asher. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. Her husband Woodrow passed away on October 21, 1981.

June loved her Lord, family and life. She enjoyed embroidering, reading, keeping her journal and was known to many as “Granny”. June was also a member of the Busy Bee Club.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one brother, Bill and one sister, Jenny.

June is survived by one son, David Asher and wife, Monique, Holt, MO; one daughter, Becky Thompson and husband, Walt, Smithville; eight grandchildren, Stephanie, Amy, Dan, Don, Allison, Darcie, Alex, Isaac; twelve great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosemary Davis, Kansas City, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8^th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial: I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Smithville
