Judy Brown
Judith Brown, 84, of Platte City, MO passed away, July 18, 2019.
She was born on June 27, 1935 in Salina, KS and was one of five children born to Perry E. and Elizabeth (Coots) Brown. She attended Chelsea Grade School, Northwest Junior High, and Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS graduating in 1953. Judy then attended Park College in Parkville, MO. After her schooling she worked in accounting-bookkeeping for many years at numerous companies in California and retired from Farmland Industries in Kansas City, MO. After retiring Judy loved to sew, knit, and crochet.
Judy was a member of the First Christian Church in Platte City where she sang in the church choir for many years. She was also a member of the Canto Chorale that performed at Christmas and Easter. Judy loved all furry animals especially cats and loved caring for any stray cats and adored her own cat family.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Graham Brown; sisters, Dorothy Metcalf and Esther Frazee; and her husband, Bill Welch.
She is survived by her brother, Bill (JoKaren) Brown; fifteen nieces and nephews and their families; and many dear friends.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 24th at First Christian Church in Platte City, MO with visitation prior to the service at 9:30 a.m.
Burial: Platte City Cemetery
Donations may be made to the First Christian Church or KC Hospice.

Our neighborhood has lost a sweet lady. We sure will miss her. Have many memories with her that will hold close to our hearts. She’s now a beautiful angel.
