Judith Ann (Malott) Gilbride

Judith Ann Gilbride, 57, of Smithville, MO, passed away February 13, 2010 at her home from complications with cancer.

She was born on March 11, 1952 to Byron “Dumpy” and Mary (Seuell) Malott in Smithville, MO. Judy grew up in the Trimble and Smithville area and in 1970 she graduated from Smithville High School.

On December 17, 1972 she married the love of her life, Mark A. Gilbride. Together they had two daughters, Liberty and Heather.

After she graduated from high school, Judy began her career at Commerce Bank. She worked in the Trust Operations Department for over 30 years where she was currently the Vice President. In her time away from work she enjoyed cooking with her husband and watching Paula Dean. Judy loved spending time with her daughters and grandchildren, Friday night dinners out and playing cards with friends.

Judy was preceded in death by her beloved father Byron “Dumpy” Malott in 1989, and her sister Linda Pruitt in 1999.

She is survived by her husband of 37 years, Mark of the home, daughters Heather Gilbride, Kansas City, MO and Liberty Baker and husband, John, Smithville; grandchildren, Keelan, Shayleigh and Timothy; her mother, Mary Foster, Smithville; brother and sister, Richard and Cindy; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Judy was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend, and family member. She will be greatly missed by many.

Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Saturday, February 20th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville

Inurnment will be held later at a later date at Hampton Cemetery, Platte City, MO

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
