Joyce Marie (Dawson) Ledbetter
Joyce Marie Ledbetter, 72, of Dearborn, MO, formerly of Camden Point, MO, passed away Sunday, July 18, 2010.
She was born on February 18, 1938 to Vernon and Lena Mae (Shanks) Dawson in Kansas City, MO. Joyce grew up in Camden Point and in 1956 she graduated from North Platte High School.
May 12, 1956 she was united in marriage to Melvin Jackson Ledbetter. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, MO and later moved to her family home in Camden Point. In 2007 they moved to Dearborn.
Joyce was for a cook for Argosy Casino, Hy-Vee and Harmer’s Café. She also owned and operated BJ Café in Dearborn. Joyce loved oil painting, mushroom hunting and collecting cookie jars.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Joyce is survived by her husband, Melvin of the home, sons, Jack Ledbetter and wife, Carrie, Camden Point, and Danny Ledbetter, Kansas City, MO; grandchildren, Chris, David, Amanda, Josh, Jeremy, Zach, Austin, Mike and Paige; great-granddaughter, Breianna; brothers, Bill McHone, Jr., Donald McHone and Stanley Dawson; sisters, Bonnie May and Shirley Hershley all of Weston, MO; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 22nd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton with visitation from 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to the service.
Burial: Camden Point Cemetery
