Joyce Clayton

Joyce
(Delmer) Clayton, (The Norty’s lady), of St. Joseph, MO passed away on October
23, 2014 in Sanger, TX five months to the day of her 80th birthday. 

 

She
was born on March 23, 1935 in Hope, AR to Clarence and Mabel (Beck) Gross.  She
married Sanford Clayton in 1970 in Reno, NV.  Joyce was a retired nurse prior to
moving to St. Joseph where she made her home until her health began to fail. She
moved to Texas to be closer to her daughter/son-in-law until her passing.  Joyce
was a very caring and loving person with a personality like no other.  She could
take it and she could dish it out.  She was very loved by her children and her
other family at Norty’s. 

 

Joyce
is preceded in death by her two husbands, her parents, sister, Alta Turna and
her dog Honey. 

 

Her
legacy will live on in her children, Donna (Rick) Black, TX, Larry Rhoads, CA,
Debby Rhoads, CA, Michael (Genele) Rhoads, CA; step-daughter, Donna (Mike)
Sunnafrank, MI; niece Pam (Mike), Kosowski, IL; and her best friend for life as
she called him Mike (Elaine) Ferguson. 

 

Graveside
Inurnment:  10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 11th at St. Joseph Catholic
Cemetery, Easton, MO.
