Joseph Lee Mauzey
Joseph Lee Mauzey “Little Joe”, 73, of Smithville, MO passed away Saturday, June 14, 2014.
He was born Feb 5, 1941 to Bessie Lorene and Oliver Bristow Mauzey in Smithville, MO. Joe grew up and graduated from Smithville High School in Smithville MO.
On July 4, 1959 he was united in marriage to Donna Jean Henderson. After their marriage they lived in Liberty MO, and then moved to Gladstone where they raised their family, later moving to Smithville.
Joe worked as a truck driver for Crouch Brothers, CKC, Middlewest and Yellow where he retired in 1998, after 32 years of service safely driving over 3 million miles. After retirement Joe and Donna moved to the Lake of the Ozarks. Joe was a Mason of the Temperance Lodge # 438 and Noble of the Ararat Shrine Temple. He also was a skilled craftsman; he loved making furniture for his family and friends. You would often find Joe on the lake fishing or in a garden, always catching fish and growing enough to feed the entire family and all of his friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Lorene Mauzey.
Joe is survived by his loving wife of 54 years Donna Mauzey, his children, Debbie Cabra and Rick Mauzey and wife Chris; grandchildren, Michael, Jessica, Travis and Megan; twin brother John Mauzey and wife Mary Jo; brother Jim Mauzey and wife Virginia; sister Judy Kenyon and husband Roland; several nieces and nephews , other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 18th at Mt. Olivet Christian Church, Smithville with visitation 12:30-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
Burial: Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Smithville

Joe will truly be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was always glad to see you and stop and chat awhile, telling stories of his fishing adventures. Then there was his beautiful woodworking. God bless
