Jon Jacobson, Sr.

Jon
Jacobson, Sr., 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday, October 31, 2015 at
Northcare Hospice House. 

 

Jon
was born on September 1, 1934 in Ames, Iowa, the son of Edgar and Esther
(Stowell) Jacobson. He lived most of his life in the Kansas City area. 
He was united in marriage to Doris A. Duke on
April 20, 1958.
  To this marriage, were
born a daughter, Denise (Tim) Lundberg and son Jon (Cynthia) Jacobson, Jr.
  After this marriage ended, Jon married Betty
Sue Blankenship on March 26, 1977.
  Jon
served his country in the U.S. Air Force from 1956-1960.
  He was a 1952 graduate of Shawnee Mission
High School and attended Iowa State University.
 
Jon worked for American Hospital Supply Corporation for 18 years, Rose
Restaurant Supply and retired from Pioneer in 2013.
  Jon enjoyed gardening, watching the Kansas
City sports teams and singing in the church choir.

 

Jon
was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Barbara Jean, and his wife
Betty, of 38 years.

 

He
is survived by his daughter and son; six grandchildren, Emily Lundberg, Lauren
Lundberg, Carter Lundberg, Matthew Jacobson (fianc�© Fernanda De Lima),
Alexandria Jacobson and Paul Jacobsob, niece Adrienne (John) Pfrommer, nephews,
Jonce (Nancy) Trimble, Ross (Tammy) Trimble, and Bruce (Kim) Trimble.

 

Memorial
Service: 
2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7th
at Metro Baptist Church with visitation from 1:00-2:00 prior to the service.  His body was donated to University of Kansas Medical Center.

 

In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society,
Northcare Hospice House, Great Plains SPCA or the charity of your choice.
