John Williams
John Williams, 88, of Gower, MO, passed away, December 2, 2023.
He was born on March 10, 1935 to Dave Coleman and Grace Pearl (Southard) Williams in Pauls Valley, Oklahoma. He served his country in the U.S. Army.
On August 9, 1982 he was united in marriage Gloria (Thompson) Ransdell. After their marriage they lived in Gower where they made their home.
John was a mechanic for Boeing and retired from TWA/American Airlines with over 50 years of service. He was the great storyteller of the family. John loved his job at TWA was an OU Sooners Fan. He loved playing basketball and dominoes with his brothers, attending Williams Family Reunions and hiding money for his grandkids to find. He was the Chaplain’s assistant at the Leavenworth Penitentiary. He was a member of the Smithville Family Worship Center. John was preceded in death his parents, brothers, Dave Williams, Jr, Merle Williams, Verle Williams, Van Dale Williams, Leo Williams, Bill Williams; son, Mickey Williams; and daughter, Tracy Daugherity; and grandson, Bryson Reynolds.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria; children, Rickye Williams, Marla Garrett, Cynthia (Scott) Grieger, and Jimmie (Sara) Ransdell; brothers, Jerry (Marci) Williams and Jack (Landee) Williams; sister, Dorothy (Steve) Davenport; eighteen grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service with Military Honors: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 7th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Gower with visitation one hour prior.
Donations may be made to the Smithville Family Worship Center.
