John William DeVore, Sr.

John William DeVore, Sr. passed from this life on Friday, February 9, 2018, at 78 years of age.
 
John was born December 29, 1939, to Moses F. DeVore and Ruby M. Brinton DeVore in Agency, Missouri. John graduated from East Buchanan in Gower, Missouri, in 1957. He attended Highland Junior College and Northwest Missouri State University. He was a star athlete.
 
On October 1, 1960, John married his best friend and love of his life Linda C. Smith DeVore. They were married 57 years. To this union, John and Linda had three children. John particularly enjoyed fishing, hunting, western films, football, and hanging out with his family. John so loved his family.
 
John was proceeded in death by his parents and son-in-law, David N. Goacher. He is survived by his loving wife Linda; his children John W. DeVore, Jr. and wife Tami, Michellé A. Goacher, and Daniellé D, Barnes and husband Clint; his grandchildren Alexi S. Gamache and husband Nathan, Dalton D. DeVore, and Derek J. DeVore; his great-granddaughters KarenaMai S. Goacher and MeeyaRae N. Goacher; his sisters Marcella Fortner and husband Darrell and Veta M. DeVore; his sister-in-law Kathy A. Jackson and husband Herb; his special-in-heart daughter Darcie Davis DeVore Justin; and several nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
 
A private family farewell and celebration of life was held at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home. 
In lieu of flowers, the family request that all please keep John in their hearts.
 
Until we meet again, those special memories of you will always bring a smile. If only I could have you back for just a little while, then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do. You always meant so very much and always will do too. The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain, but you’re forever in my heart until we meet again. Zohaad Irfan
