OBITUARY
BILL JACKSON
John William “Bill” “Rambo” Jackson, 82, of Easton, MO passed away April 10, 2014 at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on January 6, 1932 to Rufus and Grace (Rapp) Jackson in Easton, MO where he grew up. Bill graduated from Easton High School as the Valedictorian in 1949. He then served his country in the US Army and is a veteran of the Korean War, and was awarded a Purple Heart.
On June 14, 1958, he was united in marriage to Josephine Hanway. After their marriage they lived on the farm in Easton where they made their home.
Bill “Rambo” retired from the Carpenters’ Union Local 110 in 1997, where he worked most of his years at Vineyard Construction and Lehr Construction. He was a member of the Easton Lions Club and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had a great sense of humor, loved playing cards, working puzzles, and spending time with family.
He was preceded in death by his parents Rufus and Grace Jackson; siblings, Roy Lee Jackson, Edgar Jackson, Floyd Jackson, Lil Thomas, Anna May Herpel, Howard Jackson, Earl Jackson, Kenny Jackson, Lester Jackson and George Jackson.
He is survived by his wife Jo of the home, children, Wilma Corkins and husband Fred, Billy Jackson and wife Sherri, Brenda Cantrell and husband Keith, Deanna Schultz and husband Steve; grandchildren, Becky Flamm and husband Spencer, Lindee Corkins, Amber Kriley and husband Blaise, Taylor Tommey and husband Ryan, Tori Cantrell, Hayden, Connor and Tegan Schultz, and Zayne and Jayden Ulmer; great-grandchildren, Olivia and Joey Flamm and Josie Kriley; siblings Mary Nelson, Jim Jackson and wife Jerry, Dorothy Ostrander and husband Walt, Nadine Karrasch, Donna Corey, Betty Kerns and husband Wayne, and Evelyn Thomas; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
