John W. Moyes
John William Moyes, 66, of Agency, MO, passed away Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at Carriage Square in St. Joseph after a long battle with MS.
He was born on March 18, 1945 in St. Joseph, MO. John grew up in Gower, MO and graduated from Gower High School and then attended Kansas City Trade School.
On June 27, 1964 he was united in marriage to Edna Mae Lunsford. After their marriage they lived in Agency were they made their home.
John worked for Dean Machinery CAT in Kansas City.
He was a member of the Gower Christian Church. John was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #397 in Gower, MO, the St. Joseph Rifle and Pistol Club and an Endowment Member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, guns and football.
John was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dulcie and Carl Walkup and uncles, John Stamper Walkup and William Carl Walkup.
He is survived by his wife, Edna of the home; his mother, Gail Moyes, Topeka, KS; sister, Connie Marcotte and husband, Sam, Topeka, KS; niece Megan; nephew Shaun; other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 10:00-11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7th with Masonic Service and Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph
