I’m sorry I can’t be with you all as you celebrate my cousin John. My thoughts are with you and I send prayers for Connie, and the girls and their families, John’s brothers and families. My mind and heart are full right now, so many memories of John Edward, as we called him. When we were little and growing up we called him “Baby” John. Once in awhile I still called him that. We grew up together, John, and Ricky and I, being only 10 months between us all. Then when we were teenagers, I often spent the weekends with Grandma Turner and the three of us would run around all over town, doing anything and everything. We would go to Justus drugstore for nickel cokes, the tiny Dairy X for ice cream, (Dairy Y was too far Grandma made us promise not to go “clear to the highway”). We hung out at the park. My Uncle Richard coached the little league baseball at the park for awhile. I think we all three had our first boyfriends and girlfriends about the same time, had our first kisses about the same time, tasted our first beer about the same time. We went to teen town and other dances, and of course we thought the two boys needed a band. We found anyone older that had their own car and all pile in. So much of my life was spent with my cousins that I have million memories! I cherish every one. I love you “Baby” John. You rest in peace now.
