John Stafford

John Ralph Stafford, 84 of Smithville, MO passed away November 30, 2022.

He was born January 25, 1938, to George A and Dolores (Richmond) Stafford in Kansas City, MO. John graduated from Cleveland Heights High School. He then served his country overseas in the United States Marines Corps. After his honorable discharge, he began his career at Ford Motor Company in Cleveland, OH as a quality inspector and retired as a Plant Senior Executive in 1995.

On January 23, 1960, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Ryhal. After their marriage they made their home in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio where they raised their two sons. After his retirement they moved to Smithville, MO.

John served as a Priesthood member at the Community of Christ in Smithville, MO. He was an avid golfer and Ohio State fan. John was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.

He was preceded in death by his parents George and Dolores Stafford; his brother Bobby Ford; and his son Bill Stafford. John is survived by his wife Mary Jane Stafford; son John Stafford, Jr. and wife Krista; grandchildren John III, Jason, Billy, Caitlyn, Anna, Jacob, and Mathew; great-grandchildren Graham, Leo John, Archie, Nina Jane, and Bennett; sister Sue Peterson; other relatives and many friends. 

 Visitation 10:00-11:00 am with Funeral Service at 11:00 am Monday, December 5th at Community of Christ in Smithville, MO.

Burial: Dearborn Community Cemetery (Stafford Cemetery), Dearborn, MO

Donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital
