In Remembrance Of
John Paul Scheidecker
John Paul Raymond Scheidecker, 30, of Liberty, Missouri unexpectantly passed away July 30, 2023, and is fondly known to us as JP. He was a pillar of generosity, kindness, and a need for adventure. His life was a series of beautiful moments strung together by his infectious smile, heart of gold, loving spirit, need for speed, and fearlessness.
John Paul was an amazing son, brother, uncle, and friend to many. His life was filled with the joy of shared dreams and ambitions for his life. His work ethic was respected by many.
John Paul graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in Biomedical Engineering. He owned his own business and was a true entrepreneur. He lived outside of Liberty on the land he loved. He was an avid wakeboarder, snowboarder, boater, dirt bike rider, hunter, and fisherman. He loved being outside, being on the lake, and exploring nature. He was a season ticket holder for the Kansas City Chiefs. His zeal for life was admired. He loved the Lord, and we know he is in heaven.
John Paul is survived by his mother Elaine Scheidecker, Smithville, MO. His brother Luke Scheidecker, Evansville, Indiana, and soon-to-be sister-in-law Tori Schickel, Evansville, Indiana. His niece and nephew, Cade and Brynn Scheidecker, Nashville, Illinois. Uncle Dana (Cherri) Scheidecker, Greely, Colorado; Uncle Marlen Bredberg, Laurens, South Carolina; Aunt Kris (Jeff) Williams, Stanton, Iowa, along with many cousins and friends.
John Paul was proceeded in death by his father, Craig Scheidecker. In a word, John Paul was a true entrepreneur, who loved running his company. He was curious and inquisitive, with a keen intellect to drive his passions. Whatever John Paul did, he was all in! John Paul loved his family and friends and was always helping them out with anything they needed.

Dear Elaine,
I read about this tragic news in the newspaper. I am so sorry. I’m sure the pain is intense and I wish there was something I could say to help ease your pain. Mike and I are praying for you and your family. You have been such a positive part of the life in Smithville, as a teacher as you “mothered” those many little ones through the years. Now it is time for you to be supported by all the good you have done for others. God bless you as you grieve. Mike and Mena

Dear Scheidecker Family,
My heart truly aches….where to begin?…I am
not sure but will type what is on my heart as I know JP would say just be honest and share the feelings. I am very saddened and my deepest sympathy. I will sit here with my coffee as I know we both shared a love for that 🙂
What an amazing young man who will truly be missed. Much love, comfort, peace, and many prayers to the entire Scheidecker family. JP was a man I truly admired for many reasons; his love for life, God, people, nature, helping others, and his design/entrepreneurial mindset. Wow he was talented! He helped me become a stronger, kinder woman.
I’ll never forget the many kind words and encouragement he shared with me during many fun adventures with him and his family. He taught me to smile, work hard, chase any dream I had, love the Lord, enjoy nature, and embrace the challenges life presents us without fear but comfort in knowing God’s plan always prevails. JP, you changed my life for the better, thank you! I’ll forever cherish the time in my life that our paths crossed.
Deepest Sympathy and Love,
Kelsey Leigh Neal

The loss of your beloved son, uncle, cousin, nephew and friend breaks our hearts so much. This horrible, unexplained tragedy happened a few miles from my house. Though I did not know JP or his family I felt drawn to the scene to pray for the repose of the soul of John Paul, and for his killer to come forward or to be found..I pulled off the side off the road and walked to the markings where his truck had been…..His Best friend, his cousin and her husband had come to the scene also. I know who they were because they introduced themselves. They seemed surprised I would stop to pray. I told them “Im sure our whole community and across the miles people are praying for your family”. I prayed on my knees in the grass while they put their hands on my shoulders.
I was BLESSED by Our Lord to be able hug them all, to cry with them, and to offer my personal and sincere condolences.
Eternal Rest Grant unto Him O, Lord and let Perpetual Light shine upon Him. May He rest in Peace.

John Paul, may you rest in peace with God. You weren’t here long enough, taken way too soon. Your infectious grin, those beautiful eyes, all the memories of the 25 years I’ve known you and watched you grow are forever in my heart. I love the smile you always gave me and ornery grin as I watched it come upon your face as you told me something that was just as ornery as that beautiful smile. I love how you always hugged me when you saw me and called me “Mamma Sperry”. I love you for the friendship you gave my son. I love you and will forever miss you. Rest now, you are home.

Our sincerest condolences to the family of John Paul. We first met him at Bill and Jamie’s wedding and he was a go getter then and ambitious! We remember mostly though, his friendly smile and bubbly personality. Hang on to your memories of such a sweet soul.

To the family of JP,
I am so sorry for the loss of your son, brother, uncle. I know what a close family you are and can’t imagine how devastating this is. We knew JP when he dated our daughter, Meg, during college. We shared many fun times together in Missouri and when he visited us at our lake cabin. An adventurer he was! I remember gasping as he did back flips- on his wake board and off the back of our boat. He definitely loved life and wanted to get as much out of it as he could! I am glad there are so many who have such happy memories of him.
Sending our love and condolences,
Jean and Todd
