JOHN M. HICKMAN

John Mark Hickman, 62, of Smithville, MO, passed away Saturday, February 26th at his home.

He was born on May 10, 1942 to Horace Lee and Renna Frances (Sparks) Hickman in Kansas City, MO. John grew up in Smithville and in 1960 graduated from Smithville High School.

On November 17, 1961 he was united in marriage to Carolyn Eskridge. After their marriage they lived in Ferrelview, Camden Point and later moved to Smithville where they made their home. His wife, Carolyn preceded him in death on February 7, 1991.

He worked for TWA for 35 years and also was a member of the Platte County Sheriff Department, the City of Kearney Police Department, the City of Smithville Police Department, Houston Lake Police Department and the Clay County Sheriff Department.

John was a member of the Smithville Rotary, the Masonic Lodge?s of Smithville and Farley, the Eastern Star in Smithville, and the Smithville Chamber of Commerce. He also started the Smithville Senior Center.

He was also preceded in death by his parents and sister, Sue Snider.

John is survived by his children, Mark Hickman, Kansas City, Michelle Addison and husband, David, Smithville, and Michael Hickman and wife, Tarryn, Smithville, two grandchildren, Craig and Alyssa Addison, one niece Susan French, Smithville, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, March 2nd at the Smithville United Methodist Church
Burial: Stony Point Cemetery, Trimble, MO.
Masonic Service: 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 1st with visitation following until 9:00 P.M. at the Smithville United Methodist Church.
