John Lewis Reynolds

John Lewis Reynolds, 76 of rural Plattsburg, MO passed away, Wednesday, December 2, 2009 at his home.

He was born on February 16, 1933 to Guy Raymond and Bertha Ann (McMillian) Reynolds in North Platte, Nebraska where he grew up and graduated from North Platte High School in 1952. He then served his country in the US Army during the Korean War. John also served in the National Guard.

On January 4, 1953 he was united in marriage to Esther Florence Stoddard. After their marriage they lived in North Platte where they raised their four children. In 1995 they moved to rural Plattsburg.

John worked for Union Pacific Railroad in North Platte for 43 years, retiring in 1995. He loved to travel and being outdoors.

He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ Maysville Restoration Branch, and the American Legion Post in North Platte.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Charles, Walter, and David Reynolds; and sister Esther Breach.

John is survived by his wife, Esther of the home, children, Rodney Reynolds and wife Barbara, Maxwell, NE, Deb Nichols and husband, Bruce, Osborn, MO, Elaine Mills and husband, Tom, Jefferson City, MO, Bruce Reynolds, Gower, MO; six grandchildren, Heather and husband, Justin, Jarom and wife, Sharah, Misty, Molly, Bret, and Britney; one great-grandson, Blaine; one brother, Lawrence Reynolds, Wilmington, CA; one sister, Nona Reynolds, North Platte, NE; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 5th at the Church of Jesus Christ Maysville Restoration Branch, 7319 S Highway 33, Osborn, MO 64474 with visitation 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.

Burial with military honors: Mt. Zion Cemetery, Gower
