John Edward Smith II

John Edward Smith II, 63 of Overland Park, KS passed away Tuesday, December 18, 2012. 

He was born on October 24, 1949 to John Edward and Virginia Lee (Peebles) Smith in Kansas City, KS where he grew up and graduated from High School.  He then served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War. 

John was a Train Master for Union Pacific Railroad. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Laura Foster.

John is survived by his wife Sharon Smith; children, Ginny Russell, Roberta Taylor, Johnny Smith, Jr, and Katie Shetka; grandchildren, Tyrus Jr., Kelsey, Jake and Nate; sisters, Jerry Nevill, Rachel Reeder, Jeannie Reeder, Evelyn Lewis and Kathy Cooksey; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends. 

Graveside Inurnment:  2:00 p.m. Saturday, December 22^nd at Smithville Memorial Cemetery.
