John Brisco Burnham

John. B. Burnham, 82, of Gower, MO, formerly of Fairport, MO, passed away, Thursday, June 18, 2009 at his home.

He was born on December 15, 1926 to Brisco and Nancy (Graham) Burnham in Fairport, Missouri where he grew up and later graduated from Maysville High School. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.

On May 19, 1962 he was united in marriage to Marjorie Beckwith. After their marriage they lived in Fairport where they made their home. In 1999 they moved to Gower.

John worked at the Bank of Fairport for over 40 years, where he retired as president.

He was a member of the Mt. Moriah Methodist Church in Gower and was a past member of Fairport Methodist Church. John was a member of the Gower American Legion Post 393 in Gower, the Fairport American Legion, and the Fairport Lions Club. John was very active in the Fairport Community.

John was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Marge, of the home; son, Dr. Robert Drew and wife, Sheila, Prescott, AZ; daughter-in-law, Linda Drew, Bethany, MO; three granddaughters, Heather Giles and husband, Randy, Holly Brownfield and husband, Tim, and Heidi Lenon and husband, Levi; four great-grandsons, Owen and Ian Giles, and Ethan and Brody Brownfield; sister, Charlene Lincoln and husband, Charles, Maysville, MO, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, June 22^nd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Visitation: 6:30-8:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Graveside Inurnment with Military Honors: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 24^th at the Fairport Cemetery in Fairport, MO.
