In Remembrance Of

Joanne Sheffield

JOANNE SHEFFIELD

Joanne (Doolan) Sheffield, 73, of Eldon, MO, passed away, Friday, January 6, 2006.

Joanne Marie (Doolan) Sheffield was born on February 2, 1932 to J.W. and Marie Doolan. She was the oldest child and big sister to brothers Jimmy, Ray, and Timmy. As a child her friends and family called her ?Ann?, ?Ann Marie?, and ?Joanne Marie? when she was in trouble.

As a woman, she was simply ?Jo? though her life was never simple. She spent many years as a single mother, often working two jobs to keep food on the table, and to those of us who called her ?Mom? she was also Den Mother, Brownie Leader and costume designer. From teaching her daughters to bake bread, to taking her son on a rattle snake hunt in the desert, she was always up for anything. Nothing was too difficult or impossible to do.

For many, she?ll always be ?Grandma Jo? or ?Grammy?. She taught her grand-daughters to knit and crochet and helped her grandsons with everything from surfing to Boy Scouts. The only thing they couldn?t do was say ?I can?t?. She was there when we hurt and there when we laughed, but most of all she there when we needed her.

Jo had 5 children, 19 grand children and 16 great-grand children. Her life was full of people that love her still, but the one who loves her most is the One who calls her ?daughter?, her loving Father and best friend Jesus. She walked out the last 30 years of her life with Jesus by her side and those were the best years yet.

She loved being in the country, digging in the garden and raising chickens, but the most important things in her life were her family and her relationship with the Lord.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Sandra Rinehart, one brother, Ray Doolan.

She is survived by her legacy, one son, Scot Morgan and wife, Teresa, Louisburg, KS, three daughters, Francine Moody and husband, Pete, Eldon, MO, Sharmin Cassady, Mission, KS, and Traycie Borelli and husband, David, Phoenix, AZ, nineteen grandchildren, Jake, Candace, Travis, Jason, Todd, Sean, Micah, Seth, Scott, Sara, Steven, Skyler, Samuel, Cody, Lindsey, Adam, Drew, Chad, and Amber, sixteen great-grandchildren, two brothers, Timmy Doolan, Edinburg, VA, and Jimmy Doolan, Kansas City, MO.
