Joan (Kissick) Turner

Joan
Turner, 79, of Kansas City, KS formerly of Edgerton, MO passed away Wednesday,
December 30, 2015 at her home.

She
was born on April 28, 1936 to Wallace and Meranda Mae (Purvis) Kissick in
Edgerton, MO where she grew up and attended school.

Joan
worked for KC Structural Steel as a foreman, KU Medical Center as a security
officer patrol and at Antique and Craft City where she was cashier, all in
Kansas City, KS.

She
was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton.

Joan
was preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Michael Wallace Turner;
brothers, Ray Kissick, Otto Kissick, and James Kissick; sisters, Izola Smith,
Maureen Hollar, Rose Downs, Thelma Smith, and Bea Snook.

She
is survived by her son, Martin R. Turner; daughter, Brenda Lynn and husband
Harold; grandchildren, Chad Turner, Richard Lynn and Elvin Lynn; great-granddaughter,
Lilith; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral
Service:
  2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 2nd
at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO with visitation one hour prior to
the service.

Burial:  Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Weston, MO.

Donations
may be made to KC Hospice.

    RIP Joan.  I loved you very much. You brought my husband into my life. And because of you I have a beautiful son.  Although he is in heaven celebrating with you.  You both will be eternally in my heart.   Wishing I could be there with the rest of the family during this difficult time.  Hugs are being sent from Florida!
