In Remembrance Of
Jimmy Blakely
Jimmy Lawrence Blakely passed away on Tuesday, February 14, 2023, after battling a long-time illness. He was 76.
Jimmy was born on March 9, 1946 in St. Joseph, Missouri and made his lifelong home in Camden Point, Missouri. After high school he was drafted into the Army in 1964 where he served his time in Vietnam before coming home. He then began farming with his brothers Francis and Charles Blakely for several years along with driving a truck hauling yachts all over the country. In 1988 he started working at TWA and later retired from American Airlines.
He did not have any children of his own but he has several nieces and nephews that were his kids. As everyone knew, Uncle Jim absolutely loved babies. He enjoyed spending time with them and watching them grow up. He was an amazing man who could do anything, build anything, and his imagination was endless with projects he wanted to tackle. The things that man could do were nothing short of amazing and so full of knowledge.
Jimmy is preceded in death by his parents Carl and Isabel Blakely; brother George Blakely; and brother Charles Blakely.
He is survived by his brother Francis Blakely, several nieces/nephews, great nieces/nephews, and great-great nieces/nephews. His tireless love for his family was so enormous and his light shined so bright.
Family will have a private gathering at a later date.

Jimmy was a ‘best friend’ to me, as he was to about everyone who knew him. His ‘heart’ was as big as Niagra Falls. He loved his family, his friends, and his creative works. It is said Jim had no children, yet he had an abundance of children. His tenderness was that of his Lord. He boarded a Chariot the other day and headed to the Promise Land. Heaven awaited him with open arms. Miss you Jim, love you Jim. See you again Jim. Sid
