Jim Riddle
James L. Riddle, 95, of Linn Creek, MO, formerly of Smithville, MO, passed away, December 7, 2019.
He was born on June 19, 1924 to John W. and Artie Mae (Sexton) Riddle in Dearborn, MO. Jim attended school and grew up in the Wallace area. He then served his country in the U.S. Army during the WWII.
On March 22, 1946 he was united in marriage to Dorothy Rose Meek. After their marriage they lived in Beverly, MO and moved to Smithville in 1953 where they made their home. After they retired, they moved to Birmingham, MO. His wife, Dorothy, passed away on November 12, 2002. In March 2012 he moved to Linn Creek at the Lake of The Ozarks.
Jim retired after 32 years from Valspar Paint in Kansas City as a Quality Control Technician and was a member of the IUPAT.He became a member of the First Christian Church in Smithville in 1954, and later attended the Community Christian Church in Camdenton, MO. Jim enjoyed fishing, boating, and loved his Royals and Chiefs.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, John W. Riddle, Jr, Charles R. Riddle, and George R. Riddle.
Jim is survived by his daughter, Rosemary “Romy” Riddle; son, Ronald Riddle and wife, Jane; grandson, Christopher Riddle; step-granddaughters, Patricia Smith and Nancy Steward; four step-great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Caryle Meek; sisters-in-law Genevieve Riddle and Lucille Meek; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home in Smithville.
Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m Saturday, December 14th at First Christian Church in Smithville.
Burial with Military Honors: Platte City Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the March of Dimes and the American Cancer Society.

Jim was a sweet, sweet gentleman. My condolences to his entire family. I’m glad to have met him and Dorothy through Romy. I’m here for you good friend!
