Jim Cox
James L. Cox, 74, of Gower, MO passed away, November 24, 2020.
He was born on April 6, 1946 to James Andrew and Juanita Irene (McBroom) Cox in Gallatin, MO. Jim grew up in Hamilton and graduated from Penney High School in 1964. In 1965 he graduated from Platte College.
On April 15, 1967 he was united in marriage to Shirley Poage. After their marriage they lived near Gower where they made their home.
Jim was a farmer for most of his adult life. He also worked for First National Bank, Lake City Remington Arms in Accounting, Ag Statisticians Service and was a supplier for UPCO.
He was a member of the Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church. He was also a member of the Gower Lions Club, East Buchanan FFA Alumni, and the Gower Volunteer Fire Department.Jim was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Janis Rogers.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, JD Cox and Karen (Stephen) Main; grandchildren, Brianna (Noah) Smith, Kristin Cox, Kaitlin Cox, and Erin Cox; brother, Gary Lynn Cox; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, November 30th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower with visitation one hour prior.
Burial: Allen Cemetery.
Donations may be made to Gower Lions Club or Mt. Moriah United Methodist Church.
