JIM BENNETT

James Riley Bennett, 73, of Lee?s Summit, MO, passed away, Sunday, February 26, 2006.

He was born on February 17, 1933 to Jesse Riley and Anna Laura (Weakley) Bennett in Kansas City, MO, where he grew up. He graduated from Westport High School in 1951. Jim also graduated from Kansas University with a degree in Metallurgical Engineering. He served his country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Wasp.

Jim retired from Western Electric in the Kansas City area.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Jim is survived by his sister, Marsha Jean Scenter and husband, Jim, Orrick, MO, four nieces, Becky Parker, Longview, TX, Cathy Curtis, Excelsior Springs, MO, Kim Madrigal, McKinney, TX, and Cindy Harris, Liberty, MO, eight great nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 7:30 p.m. Thursday, March 2nd at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, with visitation from 6:00-7:30 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial: 11:00 a.m. Friday at Allen Cemetery, Gower.
