JERRY R. YOUNG
Jerry R. Young, 59, of Camden Point, MO, passed away, Tuesday, August 8, 2006 after his fearless 20 month battle with Lung Cancer.
He was born on December 4, 1946 in McCurtain, OK. Jerry grew up in Kansas City and graduated from Ft. Osage High School. He then served his country in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his honorable discharge he returned to Kansas City. Jerry worked for TWA/American Airlines as an Airline Mechanic for 36 years.
On November 15, 1978 he was united in marriage to Susan Kaye Lindsey. After their marriage they lived in Camden Point where they made their home.
Jerry was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton, MO. He was a Mason, member of the VFW Post #7356 in Parkville, the Scottish Rite 32nd Degree, and the Ararat Temple Shrine. Jerry was also a member of Local Union 530.
He was preceded in death by his father, Cecil Ray Young.
Jerry is survived by his wife, Sue, of the home; children, Jerry Young and wife, Beth, Missouri Valley, Iowa, Carrie Muse and husband, Doug, Greenwood, Indiana, Valerie Lumm and husband, Matt, Auburn, KS, and Travis Young and fianc?, Shannon Heidtbrink, Camden Point, MO, nine grandchildren, Gina Lewis and husband, Matthew, Billie Jean, Cheyanne, and Jessica Young, Michelle, Danielle, Emily, and Matthew Muse, and Tyler Lumm; great-grandson, Brady Lewis; mother, Geraldine (Gragg) Thompson, Odessa, MO; one brother, Cecil Young and wife, Pam, Shawnee, KS; two sisters, Della Willis and husband, Bob, Odessa, MO, and Lora Blackwell and husband, Sonny, Tulsa, OK; other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday August 12th at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton, MO.
Burial with military honors: Davis Chapel Cemetery, Dearborn, MO.
Masonic Services 6:00 p.m. Friday with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. at the church.
