JEANIE DOWNS

Jeanie Downs, 74, of Plattsburg, MO, passed away Sunday July 16, 2006.

She was born on November 15, 1931 to George Alexander and Ada Ethel (Frost) Gurley in Carbondale, IL. Jeanie attended school in Collinsville, IL, and Kansas City, MO. The family later moved to Grayson, MO.

On December 2, 1950 she was united in marriage to Bill Downs. After their marriage they lived in the Grayson and Edgerton areas and in 1997 moved to Plattsburg. Jeanie and Bill spent their winters in Tucson, AZ, where they were active in Wagons West RV Park activities.

Jeanie was a member of the Buzzin Dozen Club in Gower. She was an avid bowler and loved to dance, but her greatest love was her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandson.

She was preceded in death by her father, brother, James Gurley and sister, Jeanette Martin.

Jeanie is survived by her husband, Bill of the home, three children, Debbie Downs, Cameron, MO, Becky Mitchell, Gower, MO, and Rod Downs and wife, Karen, Tucson, AZ, four grandchildren, Amber Mitchell and fianc?, Joey Hart, Kristen Fenner and husband, Tom, Cody Downs and Bradley Downs, great-grandson, Tyler Fenner, mother, Ada Gurley, Plattsburg, brother-in-law, Hugh Downs, Tucson, AZ, a niece and a nephew, other relatives and numerous friends.

Funeral Service: 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Grayson Cemetery
Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
