JEAN TEAFORD
Jean Teaford, 78, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Trimble, MO, passed away, Sunday, January 14, 2007 in Omaha.
She was born on November 12, 1928 to Albert and Helen (Speaker) Drake in St. Joseph, MO, where she grew up and graduated from Central High School in 1946.
On April 26, 1947 she was united in marriage to Allan R. “Jerry” Teaford in St. Joseph. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, MO, and in 1966 they moved to Trimble, MO, where they made their home. Her husband, Jerry, passed away March 29, 2005.
She was a member of the Trimble Baptist Church and Beta Sigma Sorority Phi Epsilon Chapter in Trimble.
Jean worked for J.C. Penney in Kansas City, MO, and worked in the medical records at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Kansas City, St. Joseph State Hospital in St. Joseph, and Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Roger, Robert, and Melvin Drake; and three sisters, Virginia Drake, Ruth Reckers, and Frances Reisinger.
Jean is survived by one son, Stephen Teaford, Martinsburg, West Virginia; one daughter, Margaret “Peg” Schu, LaVista, Nebraska; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; one sister, Katherine Reynolds, St. Joseph, MO, other relatives and many friends.
