In Remembrance Of

Jay Meyers

Dale “Jay” Meyers, 61, of Polo, MO formerly of Edgerton, MO lost his fight with COVID on December 30, 2020.

Jay was born in Joplin, MO on December 8, 1959 to John and Theresa Meyers.

Jay married Karen Goad in 1981 and they later divorced. From that marriage they had two sons, Justin and Matthew who gave them 5 granddaughters. Jay remarried in 2017 to Brenda Witherspoon. From that marriage he gained two daughters and three grandsons.

Jay made his career as a union carpenter and was a proud member of the St. Louis-Kansas City Local #110 Carpenter’s Union. He retired in May of 2018.In his younger years, his closest friends referred to him as Jaybird or Meyers. He enjoyed deer and duck hunting and fishing. Later in life, his grandchildren took priority. Spending time with the ones he loved was his favorite activity.

Jay was preceded in death by his parents.

I pray the Lords blessing over Jay and his family! From the time I had known him, I knew he was a very loving father to Justin and Matt. To his ex wife Karen I send my deepest sympathies. It was through you I met Jay! I know Jay loved his sons unconditionally and his grandchildren as well. When I had the honor of knowing Jay, he was an excellent friend to many and he was an amazing worker. He went on to remarry and I know he bought so much Joy and love to his new family too. Jay will always be remembered in his Sons kindness and compassion which they got from him, his precious kids and grandkids have a legacy of love. I’m sorry for your loss. To the Goad family, the Meyers family, and especially to all who loved Jay, you were privileged to have someone as precious as he was. A man who took pride in family, friends, and all he touched in life. May his wife , kids, grandkids, and the Meyers family know God told Jay;”Well done my good and faithful servant. Well done! Jay may be gone in body but through all he touched and loved, he is still with us. God bless you all and know he’s only a prayer away.
