Jared Hayden Smith
Jared Hayden Smith, 24, of Kansas City, MO passed away peacefully Tuesday night April 10, 9:15 p.m. at St. Luke’s Medical Center due to complication from Duchenne’s Muscular Dystrophy.
Jared was born on November 10, 1982 in Meridian, Mississippi and moved to Smithville in August of 1987. Jared graduated from Smithville High School in 2001 and received his certification as a travel agent in 2002 from Maple Woods Community College.
He was an avid fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, Texas Longhorns and New York Yankees. He also enjoyed fishing, the beach, airplanes and playing poker. Jared touched many people throughout his life by showing courage, strength and patience to everyone he met.
Jared was preceded in death by his grandparents; Larry Smith, Bill Hayden and Louise Hayden.
He is survived by his parents, Cheryl and Darrell Smith, sisters, Allison Smith and Amber Cato and husband, Josh; niece, Darcy; nephew, Zachary Cato; grandmothers, Evelyn Nichols and Virginia Smith; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends in the area.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 14th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville
Burial: Second Creek Cemetery, Kansas City, MO
Visitation: 5:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at the funeral home
