Janette (Beery) Allgaier

Janette Allgaier, 81, of Plattsburg, MO formerly of Gower, MO peacefully went to her heavenly home on Thursday, May 18, 2017.
She was born on May 5, 1936 to Charles Raymond and Gladys (Gibson) Beery in Gower, MO.  She grew up in Gower and graduated from Gower High School in 1954 and Columbia College in 1956.
She married her high school sweetheart, Joseph “Joe” Allen Allgaier on October 6, 1956 in Easton, MO.  After their marriage, they made their home in Platte Woods and later returned to their home town of
Gower, eventually retiring in Plattsburg.  Her husband, Joe, passed away, July 31, 2009.
Joe and Janette were blessed with 52 years of marriage, and enjoyed bowling, traveling the world, cruises, and wintering in Alamo, TX in their RV.  Janette was a bowler participating in both a woman’s league as well as a mixed league with her husband. She truly enjoyed watching all levels of sports, sewing, cooking, eating out, reading cookbooks, and most of all spending time with family and friends.
She enjoyed outings with her Red Hats Group, playing Bunko, and socializing with her Town & Country friends.  She was a previous member of Beta Sigma Phi.
Janette had a varied career working for the City of Kansas City and Gladstone municipalities as well as Church Secretary at Gower Christian Church and Brookedale Presbyterian in St. Joseph, MO. 
She also worked part-time for Hallmark Cards.  Her favorite job was her work as a substitute teacher, because of the opportunity to impact the lives of many.
Janette was a member of the Gower Christian Church in Gower, MO.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Janette is survived by her daughters, Janet Lynn Morey and husband Tim, King City, MO; and Jolene Williams and husband George, Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, Brooke Rene
Taber and husband Jarret, Gower, MO; great-grandchildren Eliza Lynette and Joseph James Taber; aunt, Louanna Burton, Liberty, MO; sister, Jean Beery, Plattsburg, MO; brother, Chuck Beery and wife Sharon, Gower, MO; sisters-in-law Betty Jean Chappell, Camarillo, CA, Mary Grace Sprague, St. Joseph, MO; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Monday, May 22nd at the Gower Christian Church.
Burial:  Allen Cemetery, Gower.
Visitation:  4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the church.
Donations may be made to the Gower Christian Church.
