Jane Williamson

JANE WILLIAMSON

Jane Williamson, 85, of Gower, MO, formerly of Kansas City, MO, passed away Thursday, February 1, 2007.

She was born on March 3, 1921 in Roseburg, OR. She grew up in West Danby, NY. Jane received her Bachelor of Science degree in Home Economics from Cornell University in Ithaca, NY. She later completed two Masters degrees in Special Education from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY and from Queens College in Queens, NY.

On August 8, 1942 she was united in marriage to Charles Edward “Ed” Williamson, PhD. at the Cornell University Chapel.

Jane was a 3rd grade school teacher at Woodbury Elementary in Huntington, NY for 34 years, retiring in 1981. In May of 1983, she and Ed moved to Walsenburg, Colorado where they built their home. Her husband, Ed, passed away on May 30, 1996. Jane moved in 1998 to Wexford Place in Kansas City, MO and in 2003 she moved to the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was also preceded in death by her parents: Henry Ernest Haslett and Julia May (Dean) Haslett; one brother, Harold Haslett and a half-brother, Ernest Vernon Haslett.

Jane is survived by her daughter, Judith Mathews and husband, Stephen, Kansas City, MO, their sons, Colby and Gregory Mathews; her son, Robert Bruce Williamson and wife, Susan, Knoxville, TN, their daughter, Julia Williamson; and her son, David Lee Williamson, San Diego, CA.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date.
