James W. Wright
James W. Wright, 83, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Wednesday, July 4, 2007 at St. Luke’s Northland Hospital in Kansas City.
He was born on February 24, 1924 to George W. and Jessie T. (Hardman) Wright in Smithville, MO. He grew up in Paradise and Trimble, and attended Smithville High School. Jim then served his country in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII.
On May 26, 1946 he was united in marriage to Estelle Marie Mindrup. After their marriage they lived in Trimble, and in 1954 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.
Jim retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in 1980 after 32 years of service. He has been a member of Kiwanis International since his retirement, and received recognition for his service, as well as the George F. Hixson Fellowship Award. Jim was also a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Estelle, of the home; son, Kevin Wright, Kansas City, MO; daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Bill Larson, Lincoln, NE, and sister, Marjorie Ogle, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 7th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville, MO.
Burial: Reed Cemetery, Trimble.
Visitation: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
