James W. Newman

James William Newman, Jr., 97, of Smithville, MO passed away December 7, 2023.

He was born on August 13, 1926, to James W. and Jessie R. (Johnson) Newman  in Edgerton, MO. James grew up and attended school in the Paradise and Trimble area. He was an over the road truck driver and retired at the age of 84. He loved to mow and keep up his yard, which he did up through this last summer. 

James was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters.

He is survived by his children Geneva Hagar and husband Kenny, Linda Hagar and husband Mike, Mary Ellen McMillin and husband Joe and Jim Stewart and wife Chris; 8 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; other relatives and many friends. 

There will be no services scheduled.
