James T. Stuart
James Truman Stuart, 74, of Smithville, MO, passed away May 27, 2010.
He was born on September 9, 1935 to John Truman and Evelyn Doris (Miller) Stuart in Stanberry, MO where he grew up and graduated from Stanberry High School.
On September 3, 1955 he was united in marriage to Marva Kay Wolf. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph, MO, Kansas City, MO and in 1973 they moved to Smithville where they made their home.
Jim worked as a mechanic for TWA where he retired after 33 years. He was a member of the IAM Local #1650. Jim enjoyed working on his VW‘s and was also a member of the Mo-Kan VW Club.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Susie Wilhoit.
Jim is survived by his wife, Marva of the home, children, Steven Stuart and wife, Cheryl, Kansas City, MO, Shari Godfrey and husband, John, Smithville, MO, and Jeff Stuart and wife, Jody, Platte City, MO; grandchildren, Tricia Suiter and husband Tim, Amanda and Johnny Godfrey, Connor and Chloe Stuart; two great-grandchildren, Julian and Karson Suiter; sister, Doris Meyer and husband, Ron, Gladstone, MO; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Sunday May 30th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. prior to the service.
Burial: Smithville Memorial Cemetery
