JAMES S. HOLLAR

James S. ?Wimpy? Hollar, 70, of Camden Point, MO, passed away, Thursday, December 15, 2005 at his home.

He was born on August 30, 1935 to William Thomas and Ethel Elizabeth (Davis) Hollar near Camden Point, MO, where he grew up and attended school. James then served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

On May 23, 1956 he was united in marriage to Dixie Groom. After their marriage they lived in Platte City, Gladstone, Weston, and in 1965 they returned to Camden Point where they made their home.

James retired from National Starch and Chemical Company in North Kansas City after 39 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, William Hollar, one sister, Betty Marshall, and infant twins.

James is survived by his wife, Dixie, of the home, son, Gary Hollar, Camden Point, MO, three daughters, Connie Ashton and husband, Dennis, Edgerton, MO, Karen Tanck and husband, Jeff, and Brenda Hollar, all of Platte City, MO, five grandchildren, Leslie and Kyle Ashton, and Heather, Hilary, and Hanna Tanck, and two great-grandchildren, Bailey and Brayden Ashton, one brother, Forest Hollar, Martinez, GA, and one sister, Ethel Belcher, St. Joseph, MO, several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton, MO.
Burial: Camden Point Cemetery
Visitation: 2:00-4:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Donations may be made to the Camden Point Baptist Church.
