James Milton “Milt” Jones, Sr.
James Milton ?Milt? Jones, Sr., 85, of Edgerton, MO, passes away Thursday, May 15, 2008.
He was born on May 6, 1923 to Sam and Mary (Duncan) Jones in Dearborn, Missouri, where he grew up and attended school.
On January 21, 1956 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Elizabeth Gier. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City, Kansas, Weston, Dearborn, and Edgerton, Missouri where they made their home.
He was a member of the Dearborn United Methodist Church.
He worked at the GM Assembly Plant, was also a custodian for the North Platte School District, and farmed most of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Duncan Jones, sisters, Berniece Dean, Mary K. Hall, and Fern Johnson, son, Ricky Jones, Sr., grandson, Ricky Jones, Jr., great-great-granddaughter, Aaliyah Jones, daughters-in-law, Lisa Jones and Margaret Jones, nephew, Robert Jones.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, of the home, children, James M. Jones, Jr., and wife, Betty, Lee?s Summit, MO, Pamela Vansell and husband, Jerry, Smithville, MO, Roger Jones and wife, Tonya, Smithville, MO, and Dale Jones, of the home, daughter-in-law, Darlene Jones, Kansas City, KS; fourteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Monday, May 19th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Edgerton.
Burial: Davis Chapel Cemetery, Dearborn.
Visitation: 4:00-6:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
