James Marvin “Jim” Blankenship
James Marvin Blankenship, 55, of Platte City, MO, passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010.
He was born on December 12, 1954 in Smithville, MO. Jim spent his early childhood in Smithville and graduated from Platte City High School.
On October 1, 1983 he was united in marriage to Janet Marie Wood. After their marriage they lived in Platte City where they made their home.
He was a member of the Hoover Christian Church.
Jim worked as a maintenance supervisor for hotels and apartments in the Kansas City area. He enjoyed managing his son’s Little League Baseball Team. Jim loved bringing joy to his family and friends and special times with his wife and sons.
He was preceded in death by his son, Nathaniel James Blankenship, brother, John David Blankenship, his father, Marvin W. Blankenship.
Jim is survived by his wife, Janet of the home; sons, Scott Blankenship, Joshua Martin Blankenship, Justin Michael Blankenship; mother, Ada Croskell; brothers, Jerre Blankenship and wife, Patti, Joe Blankenship and wife, Cheryl; sister, Judy Waters and husband, John; maternal grandmother, Dorothy Clifton; Mike, Richard and Rob Croskell and their families; several nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 3rd at the Hoover Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Burial: Platte City Cemetery
Donations may be made to the Hoover Christian Church Mission Fund.
