James “Jimmy” Gardner

 

James “Jimmy” Rex Gardner, 51 of Platte City, MO, formerly of Plattsburg passed away, Monday, July 18, 2011 at his home.

He was born on March 9, 1960 to James Wilber and Phyllis Adelia (White) Gardner in St. Joseph, Missouri. Jimmy grew up in Plattsburg and graduated from Plattsburg High School in 1978. He then served his country in the U.S. Army.

On August 20, 1988 he was united in marriage to Lisa May Hale. After their marriage they lived in Platte City where they made their home. They owned and operated Ultimate Autobody in Smithville. Jimmy enjoyed off roading and drag racing, and was known as the Pontiac Man and Firechicken Jim. He was also an avid hunter.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Joey and Jackie Gardner.

Jimmy is survived by his wife, Lisa, of the home; children, Jessica Gardner, O’Fallon, MO, Brian Gardner and wife Lauren, Ft. Campbell, KY, and Heather Linder, Kansas City; granddaughter, Tessa; brother, Jonnie Gardner; mother-in-law, Audrey Hale; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Visitation: 7:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday July 21st at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.

Donations may be made in his memory c/o Lisa.
