JAMES F. REDDING
James F. Redding, 79, of Gower, Mo., passed away Tuesday, July 12, 2005 at his home.
He was born on December 18, 1925 to Leno Stewart and Mary Helen (Fields) Redding in Maysville, Mo., where he grew up and graduated from high school. Jim served in the US Army during WWII fighting in the Battle of the Bulge.
On May 21, 1954 he was united in marriage to Mary Elizabeth Thompson. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City and in 1961 they moved to the Gower area where they made their home.
Jim worked in heavy construction through the Local Union 101, participating in building many of the major roads and interstates in northwest and north central Missouri. Jim retired in 1988.
He was a member of the Local Union 101, Moose Lodge in St. Joseph, and the American Legion Post 359 in St. Joseph.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Doris Jean King.
He is survived by his wife, Mary, of the home, one son, James B. Redding and wife, Merle, Cameron, Mo., one daughter, Alma Trotter and husband, Phil, St. Joseph, Mo., five grandchildren, Charity, William, Patrick, Delta, and Elizabeth, a great-granddaughter, Zoe, one brother, Robert Redding, Polk, Mo., one sister, Christine Hills, Clinton, Mo., several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 14th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower with military honors
Visitation: 7:00-8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
Donations may be made to the Senior Citizens of Gower, Bank of Gower.
