James Edwin DePriest, Sr.

James Edwin DePriest, Sr., 81, of Weston, MO, formerly Edgerton, MO passed away, Thursday, July 3, 2014.

 

He was born in Bruno, Arkansas on June 13, 1933 to Frank and Ranna DePriest.  James served his county in the U.S. Army.

 

On April 10, 1967 he was united in marriage to Marilyn VanNest.  After their marriage they lived in Edgerton for 28 years and have since resided near Weston.  James was a chef and restaurant manager for 23 years.

 

He enjoyed farming, country music and spending time with his family.

 

James was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and five sisters.

 

James is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of the home; five children, G.J. Lacy and wife Debbie, Rich Lacy and wife Tilly, Linda Streit and husband Greg, Jim DePriest and wife Kelley, and Joe DePriest and wife Teresa; grandchildren, Lori, Jesse, Trevor, Lacie, Shayla, Jessica, James Isaac; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Wilma Cockrum; brother, Gene DePriest and wife Shirley; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Service:  11:00 a.m. Monday, July 7th at Camden Point Christian Church with visitation one hour prior to the service.

Burial with Military Honors:  Camden Point Cemetery
