James B. Mewbourne
James B. Mewbourne, 76, of Gower, MO, passed away, Sunday, July 4, 2010.
He was born on February 13, 1934 to Hafford Chester and Cumi Myrtle (Rhodes) Mewbourne in Tinnele, Georgia. Jim served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.
On February 14, 1959 he was united in marriage to Janice Kay Locke. After their marriage they lived in Kansas City North and in 1972 they moved to Gower where they made their home.
Jim worked for TWA as an Aircraft Inspector for 32 years, retiring in October, 1992. He was a member of the Machinists Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lucy Faye Gillis.
Jim is survived by his wife, Jan, of the home; two sons, Glen Mewbourne and wife Shireen, and Billie Mewbourne; five grandchildren, Keri, Megan, Ryan, Callan, and Maranda; one great-grandson, Corbin Joseph; several nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower.
