James Allen Kissick

 

James Allen Kissick, 88, of Trimble, MO passed away Monday January 20, 2014. 

 

He was born on April 24, 1925 to Wallace and Miranda (Purvis) Kissick in Weston, MO where he grew up and attended school.  James served his country in the US Army during WWII.

 

On September 23, 1947 he was united in marriage to Joyce E. Harmer.  After their marriage they lived in Edgerton where they made their home.  The last fifteen years James and Joyce lived in Trimble, MO

 

James was a member of the Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Edgerton. 

 

He retired from General Motors.  James enjoyed sport cars, motorcycles, traveling and bartering.   Most of all James loved spending time with friends and family.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents, son Jimmie Wallace; grandson Dean Cooke Kyle; brothers Ray Kissick and Otto “Sonny” Kissick; and sisters Zola Smith, Rose Downs, Morine Hollar, Thelma Smith, and Bea Snook.

 

James is survived by his wife of 66 years Joyce Kissick; sons Chuck Kissick and wife Linda and Tom Kissick and wife Doris; daughter Penny Kyle and husband Roger; grandchildren Jason and Joshua Kissick; sister Jo Ann Turner; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

 

Funeral Services: 11:00 a.m. Friday January 24th at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Edgerton

Burial with Military Honors:  Reed Cemetery

Visitation:  6:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday at the church.

Donations to the church or cemetery.
