Jake Paxton

Jacob Wesley “Jake” Paxton, 91, of Agency, MO passed away April 17, 2019.

He was born on March 28, 1928 to James Wesley and Jessie Muriel (Potter) Paxton in Decator, NE. Jake attended school in Kansas City, KS. He served his country in the U.S. Army Infantry during the Korean War. Jake was stationed in Germany. 

On November 28, 1953 he was united in marriage to Wanda Aileen Frederick. After their marriage they lived in St. Joseph and in 1958 they moved to Agency, MO where they made their home. 

Jake worked for Beaty Hy-Klas which became Affiliated Foods where he retired in 1989. He was a member of the Local Teamsters Union and the Gower American Legion Post #393. Jake also farmed in Agency and loved his garden and his horses.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Wes and Jessie Paxton, brothers, Delmer Paxton, Emil Lee Paxton, Carl Allan Paxton and Edward Gail Paxton and sisters, Margerite Gillinwater, Doris Lovelady, Muriel Clymer, and Wilma Ganote. 

Jake is survived by his wife Wanda Paxton; sons Charles Paxton and wife Melody, Don Paxton and Dan Paxton and wife Peggy; grandchildren Scott (Sara) Paxton, Brandon (Elizabeth) Paxton, Timothy (Robin) Paxton, Kristen (A.J.) Fisher and Kyle Paxton; great-grandchildren Kylee, Kole, Kyler, Koner, Elliott, Elizabeth, Brandon, Josh, and Whitley; numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and many friends.  

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday, April 19th at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower 

 Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday April 20th at the funeral home.

Burial: Allen Cemetery, Gower 

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Freudenthal Hospice
