In Remembrance Of

Jacqueline L. (Dowd) Morlock

Jacqueline LaVonne Dowd Morlock of Smithville, MO, ageless at 81, departed this life as graciously as she lived on 11/3/14.

Born in Fargo, ND, Jackie and her beloved husband of 61 years, Harley, raised their family in the Minneapolis, MN, area: Ronna (Tom) Mack, Jeff (Kathie) Morlock, Kelly (Sara) Morlock, Janelle (deceased) (Tracy) Tebbs, Maribeth (Chris) Franz, 13 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren.

Jackie was an active member of her church as well as the Lion's Club where she previously served as a district governor in 2003 & 2004. She co-founded Nellie's Sweet Shoppe in Smithville, in memory of her daughter, Janelle "Nellie", who passed away in 2007 from melanoma. She was grateful to be able to raise funds and awareness for melanoma in the shoppe.

Jackie fought a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. In lieu of flowers, memorials will be donated to Kansas University Medical Center-Integrative Medicine and The Melanoma Research Foundation.

Services will be held at First Christian Church 200 Bridge Street, Smithville MO on Saturday November 8, 2014 at 11:00 am. Visitations will be prior to the service on Saturday and from 5:00-7:00 pm Friday, November 7th.
