JACKIE R. COURTNEY, SR.

Jack R. Courtney, Sr., 66, of St. Joseph, Mo., passed away unexpectedly, Monday, January 17, 2005 at his home.

He was born on February 15, 1938 to Henry Steven and Marie Ellen (Masoner) Courtney in Helena, Mo. He grew up in the St. Joseph area. Jack retired from Iron Workers Local #10.

On February 26, 2000 he was united in marriage to Sharon Rupp Wilson.

Jack was a member of the United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers, Henry Courtney, Orville Peterson, Paul Peterson, Gerald Peterson and Willis Peterson, and daughter, Peggy (Courtney) Earhart.

He is survived by his wife, Sharon Courtney, of the home, two sons, Jackie Courtney, Jr., and wife, Angela, Springfield, Mo., Bryan Courtney, Maryville, Mo., daughter, Patricia (Courtney) Mandal, Excelsior Springs, Mo., three grandsons, two granddaughters, one great-granddaughter, two step-daughters, Marti Wilson, St. Joseph and Lisa Wilson, Rosendale, two step-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and many friends.

Visitation: 2:00-3:30 p.m. Saturday, January 22nd at St. Paul United Methodist Church, 18681 Hwy 59,St. Joseph, Mo.

Private family inurnment will be held at a later date at the Everett Cemetery, Gower.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations be made to Girls and Boys Town, PO Box 7000, Boys Town, NE 68010 in Memory of Jack Courtney.

Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Gower, is in charge of arrangements.
