In Remembrance Of

Jackie Harrison

Jacqueline (Jackie) R. Harrison, 56, passed from this life into God’s presence on Easter Sunday morning, April 17, 2022, following a brief illness.

Jackie was born on July 26, 1965, to Dee and Roger Harrison in North Kansas City, and was raised in the country near Gower, Missouri, graduating from East Buchanan High School in 1983.

Jackie had an adventurous spirit that carried her to many places and into many different and interesting roles during her lifetime. From Galveston, to Memphis, to Kansas City, to Big Sky/Bozeman, and back to the KC northland area, Jackie loved life and loved people. Many of her roles involved hospitality and travel, and she visited many fascinating places, making friends and fans along the way.

Her loving, giving spirit endeared her to her family and friends, and her selflessness was a living example of God’s love for each of us. God showed his love to Jackie in a truly remarkable way when she gave birth at age 49 to her beautiful twin daughters, the true loves of her life. Jackie was an amazing mother, a devoted and caring daughter and granddaughter, a fiercely loving sister, a truly special aunt, and a friend to many.

 She is survived by her daughters, Vivi and Zuri Harrison, her mother, Dee Harrison York, her sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Todd Offenbacker and their sons Joshua and Justin, and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, John Roger Harrison, her stepfather, Gerald York, her beloved grandparents, Spencer and Wilda Torkelson, and her precious canine companion of many years, Gracie Mae.

 For those of you who knew Jackie in this life, you know there is so much more that could be said about this beautiful soul. For those who did not get the chance to meet her in this life, be sure your trip to heaven is booked, just as Jackie’s was. You’re going to love meeting her when you get there.

Memorial services will be determined at a later date. In the meantime, if you have a message or a memory of Jackie you’d like to share, please post it to the Guestbook on the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home website so her entire family and friends can receive that blessing.

    I just found out about Jackie’s passing today. I am in shock and wish I would’ve known about her Celebration of Life because I would’ve been there to celebrate Jackie. I met Jackie when I worked at Cruise Holidays. One of the first cruises I took was with Jackie. I remember being in the disco & she made up a dance “X O Tic Tac Toe”. She had everyone on the dance floor doing this silly dance. I never laughed so hard! You know you’ve lived a good life when people remember you in such a loving and positive way. May God wrap his loving arms around the family to comfort them. Jackie, I have a trip booked to Heaven so I will see you again one day.

  • I was absolutely heartbroken to read the tragic news that Jackie has departed. I met Jackie in Big Sky Montana. Her presence was infectious. We became immediate friends and traveled to the Caribbean together. Jackie always got the most bang from her buck….Rest easy sister, we are fewer.

    Jackie was one of a kind. Awesome young lady in school, the kind we wish we could have a dozen of. Prayers to you Dee, Kim and the rest of your family.

    Words can’t express our sadness over hearing about Jackie’s passing. She was the first employee we hired at Big Sky Vacation Rentals back in 2013. Jackie was such a hard worker and found solutions to set the foundation for the business that grew over the years and employed many Big Sky locals. She always had a smile on her face and lit up every room she walked into. Over the years I have loved following her on Facebook and seeing her incredible love for her girls. This was evident in the kind of mom she was and I am sure in a short time she made a lifetime impact on their lives. While I know Heaven is celebrating we are missing her on Earth.
    Love,
    Kirsten and Mike

    I was so sorry to hear about the loss of a dear friend that I have known all of my life. We had a lot of good times as kids stomping through the woods, playing basketball, swimming in the pond, going to Skate Land and celebrating an almost shared birthday (July 26 & July 27). I am so happy for the memories we shared and sad for the ones we will miss out on. Jackie was such an outgoing person and definitely enjoyed life. She always greeted you with a great big smile and a hug. I am so glad she was blessed with those beautiful little girls to carry on her legacy. Even though I will miss you so much I know I will see you again some day.

    I am so sorry for your loss and have your family in my thoughts and prayers.

    In time to come Zuri and Vivi may refer to the treasure of all the words written here in this guestbook and be encouraged again to remember that their precious mother was admired and loved by lots of people in lots of different places. Jackie truly did let her light shine, encouraging all of us to just be better people, more grateful, generous, kind to one another, and eager for the adventure of life itself. Her legacy of love remains to comfort the hurting hearts.

    Kim, Dee, and family,
    I am so sorry to hear of Jackie’s passing. You all became our extended family through Aunt Joan and Uncle Marv. Jackie loved her family and enjoyed life to it’s fullest. That smile and laugh was contagious. Her girls were so blessed to have her to love them. I enjoyed her posts of her outings with Dee and the girls. It is heartwarming that you two remained so close as sisters. May God be with you during this difficult time. Please give Dee a big hug.

  • Traci Koon (Frazier)

    I am still in shock. Jackie was my better half for so many years in elementary school. We spent endless hours together exploring. Although we took different paths after HS we were able to reconnect when her daughters and my granddaughter played soccer against each other in the northland area. Jackie had not changed a bit, she was still as beautiful and vibrant as always and we enjoyed a many laughs. May God bless, Dee, Kim and Todd and her two adorable daughters, Vivi and Zuri. You will all be in my thoughts and prayers.

    I have always heard the cliché’ “LIVE YOUR BEST LIFE”. I could see that Jackie was one of those that lived her best life on a daily basis; surrounding herself with those that she loved the most on this earth. Jackie always had a spunk about her in high school and oh that smile! Praying for comfort in the days ahead.

  • Tammi Cutter (Wilkerson)

    Mimi and I are so saddened by thie news of Jackie’s death. She worked for us at Cruise Holidays twice, from 1989 to 1999 and then again when she moved back to KC from Big Sky.
    She was an angel to us and her clients and our staff loved and respected Jackie. And Jackie was one of the top selling agents for us and in the US for most of her career with us.
    Everyone loved Jackie’s smile and her happy, and caring attitude..
    She retired from Cruise Holidays to be a full time mother. She loved her two daughters more than anything.
    She was truly one of the brightest stars in our lives.
    Jackie will be missed.

    I’m so saddened by the news of Jackie’s passing. My heart goes out to her little girls, Vivi and Zuri, as well as her mother, Dee and sister, Kim.
    During high school I was blessed to be one of Jackie’s friends. I have fond memories of hanging out and going to the mall, Showbiz Pizza, and the time I spent with her when she was a cheerleader. She always had a great sense of humor and had me cracking up 90% of the time. She had an infectious personality and everyone wanted to be around her. She was a wonderful person to know. Although we didn’t stay in touch post high school, Jackie is one of the people from that season in my life that always brings a smile to my face. Lord, I humbly ask that you watch over her little girls and bless them with their mother’s humor, joy and sense of adventure. May they always feel her love and know You are always with them and that You are with their mama, taking care of her as well. Rest In Peace, Jackie.
    Isaiah 43:1-3.
    But now, this is what the Lord says—
    he who created you, Jacob,
    he who formed you, Israel:
    “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
    I have summoned you by name; you are mine.
    2 When you pass through the waters,
    I will be with you;
    and when you pass through the rivers,
    they will not sweep over you.
    When you walk through the fire,
    you will not be burned;
    the flames will not set you ablaze.
    3 For I am the Lord your God,
    the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;

    I was blessed to work with Jackie for several years when she first moved to town. She had the biggest heart and always put others before herself. She had an infectious optimism towards life that simply
    Rubbed off on everything and everyone she touched . Her daughters and beloved pup meant the world to her. She was the most loving mom !! She never quit anything. I will miss spending the summer poolside with her at Kim’s house . Take care of all of our fur babies till we all meet up again. Hugs~

    Jackie Harrison was one of the kindest, most fun living people I have ever met. She was a hard worker with a bug smile on her face every single day. Jackie was a dear neighbor and childhood friend. I cannot remember ever seeing Jackie upset, or being anything but sweet and funny. She was a lovely person through and through. The world will be less without Jackie Harrison, but heaven will be just a little more extraordinary with her there.
    Love and prayers to Ms Dee and Kim, and of course her girls and all the family and who now face tomorrows without her.

    RIP JACKIE.

    Gone too soon sounds so cliche but in this case it’s so fitting. Jackie had so much life to live! I’m confident her girls will always know the love of their mom and how deep it goes now and forever. Jackie’s heart was so big! She welcomed me and Mikey (as she affectionately called her childhood friend and neighbor) to live got married with her while our house was being built. We were also planning our wedding during this time and she helped us release the stress with her zest for life. Jackie also ensured we had a memorial honeymoon trip as she helped us take an Alaskan cruise. We also got to visit Jackie when she lived in Montana and she ensured we had a beautiful view at the Rainbow Ranch.

    May we all live and love like Jackie did! Rest In Peace sweet girl! Prayers to your girls, your sister and mom.
