Jack Elbert Bywaters
Jack Elbert Bywaters,85, of Smithville, MO, passed away, Tuesday, January 31, 2012.
He was born on January 8, 1927 to Ernest and Laura Maude (Smith) Bywaters in Edgerton, MO where he grew up and attended school. He then served his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII.
On April 4, 1952 he was united in marriage to Vilena “Sue” Yates. After their marriage they lived in Smithville where they made their home. Sue preceded him in death on January 16, 2002.
Jack was a rural mail carrier for 33 years in the Smithville area. He was a member of the Smithville American Legion Post #58, the Ararat Shrine and was a 50 year member of the Smithville Masonic Lodge.
He was also preceded in death by parents; sisters Wilma Enslow and Martha Miller, and brother Robert Bywaters.
Jack is survived by one daughter, Dolores Bywaters, Lenexa, KS; three grandsons, Rodney, Bradley, and Jeffrey; Dallas Sellars, who he loved like a son; sisters, Madge Wrinkle and Nancy Pummill; brother, Franklin Bywaters and his wife Lorna; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.
Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday February 3rd at Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Burial with Military Honors: Ridgely Cemetery
Masonic Service: 6:30 p.m. Thursday with visitation following until 8:30 p.m. at the funeral home.
Donations: Smithville Masonic Lodge or the Smithville American Legion.
