J. FRANCES SWEAT

J. Frances Sweat, 87, of Gower, MO, formerly of Plattsburg, MO, passed away, Monday, December 11, 2006 at the Gower Convalescent Center.

She was born on August 17, 1919 to Benjamin Alfred and Willie Jane (Slayton) King in Trimble, MO. Frances grew up and attended school in the Lily and Paradise area.

In 1938 she moved to Kansas City and worked for Auto Insurance Company and Hallmark Cards.

On June 6, 1942 she was united in marriage to Millard Sweat. After their marriage they lived in Tell City, Indiana, Vandalia, Illinois, and in 1960 they moved to Trimble where they made their home. Her husband, Millard, passed away on November 16, 1987. Frances later moved to Plattsburg, MO.

She was a member of the Community of Christ Church in Trimble. Frances worked as a local volunteer at the Senior Center in Plattsburg. She was also a member of the Rebekah Lodge and Women of the Moose Lodge.

Frances was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, Alfred, Arch, Ray, George, and Ben King, and four sisters, Ella Hendrix, Etta Wilhoit, Virginia Vick and Alma Harris.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services: 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 14th at the Hixson-Klein Funeral Home, Smithville.
Burial: Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Trimble.
Visitation: 6:30-8:00 P.M., Wednesday at the funeral home.
