Irene L. Hoy

Irene Loraine Hoy, 89, of Smithville, MO passed away April 16, 2018.

She was born on May 9, 1928 to Benjamin Franklin Langley, Sr. and Letha Augusta (Ellerman) Langley in Holton, Kansas.  The family moved to Kansas City, Kansas and in 1946 she graduated from Wyandotte High School.  

She was employed by General Motors in Fairfax where she met Wesley Turner Hoy and they were united in marriage on April 12, 1953.   After their marriage they lived near East Leavenworth (Platte County), rural Parkville (Barry Road) and in 1955 they built their permanent residence near KCI and rural Smithville.    Her husband Wes, passed away on June 18, 2011.

Irene was a member of the Barry Christian Church and later the Hoover Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wes; her parents, one brother Robert Langley and son-in-law Ray Maloney.

She is survived by her three children, Linda Maloney, Gladstone, MO, James W. Hoy and wife, Pat, Kearney, MO, and Mark L. Hoy and wife, Dawn, Blue Springs, MO, three grandchildren, Kevin Maloney, Mallory Wishall and husband Ben, and Bret Hoy and wife Jessie; step-granddaughter Stephanie Park; great-grandchildren Liam and Lake Wishall; one brother Ben F. Langley, Jr., and wife Nancy, Fort Worth, Texas; several nieces and nephews other relatives and many friends.

Memorial Services: 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. prior to the service Saturday April 21st at Hoover Christian Church, Platte City, MO

Private family inurnment will be held at Ridgely Cemetery

Donations may be made to the Hoover Christian Church
